polite way to ask someone to sit down. It is usually used as a polite
command. Notice the following:

mother. I want to talk to you.
- If you don't have a seat right
now, you will be in trouble.

What’s your house wine?
The 'house wine" is the basic wine
served in a restaurant and is also usually the cheapest. In most
restaurants you can choose between a red or white house wine. Notice the
following:
- Your meal comes with a glass of
our house wine.
- The red house wine is a Merlot.
appetizer
Can I take your order for an appetizer?
An appetizer is food that is served before
the main entree. It is usually smaller than a full meal and is something
to eat while the other food is being prepared. Notice the following:
- We are going to share the
lettuce wraps as an appetizer.
- If you want to sample many different foods, I recommend the appetizer platter.

An hamburger usually "comes with"
French fries, meaning the fries are included for no extra money. Notice
the following:
- The fish fillet came with a huge
salad.
- The soup was very expensive and

It comes with a side order of rice or
potatoes.
A side order is a small amount of food that
comes with and entree or can be ordered alone. Rice, potatoes, steamed
vegetables, beans, fruit, salad and French fries are all common side
orders. Notice the following:

really want a side order of potato salad.

The menu is predominantly chicken.
Predominantly means mostly. Notice the following:
1. Sports fans are
usually predominantly male.
2. In America, most
politicians are predominantly rich, older, white men.
Base
It has some fantastic, delicious pizzas, mostly
using thin base.
The base of a soup or sauce is the most basic
element that makes it. Notice the following:
- The
soup has a very salty base.
- The
pasta sauce requires a tomato base

It usually got a little bit of a Canadian twist to
it.
Here, twist to means style or flavor. Notice the
following:
- Most
Hollywood movies have an American twist to them.
- The
story had an interesting twist to it.
Tasty
The French fries that come with the chicken are
also quite tasty.
Tasty is a casual way to say delicious. Notice the
following:
- That
was a very tasty meal.
- The soup was delicious but the pasta was not very tasty
Just
They actually have a really nice one on the menu
and it's just delicious.
The word 'just' can sometimes mean very. Notice the
following:
- Everything
was just perfect at the wedding.
- The
ending to the movie was just incredible.
